PRINCIPLES

We recognise the importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Our ESG Policy is based upon the following principles:

To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.

To integrate ESG considerations into our business decisions, across our operations.

To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our ESG Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.

To minimise the negative environmental and social impact of our operations and supply chain.

To review, annually report, and to continually strive to improve our ESG performance.

We are committed to implementing ESG processes and procedures, focusing on non-financial performance indicators that address our approach towards sustainability, the impact that we have on society and the environment, as well as other ethical and corporate governance considerations.

This policy sets out the ESG issues which are most relevant for Bluegem Capital Partners LLP and our operations and how we manage these.

Environment

Bluegem Capital Partners LLP is committed to minimising our impacts on the environment.
Due to the nature of our activities, our main environmental impacts relate to:

Energy consumption and associated GHG emissions
We are committed to reducing GHG emissions from our operations.

Recycling
We are committed to waste minimisation and recycling. We practice responsible waste management and implement recycling programs to ensure as minimal an environmental footprint as possible.

Social

We value our employees and our relationship with the community in which we operate. Our people, with their skills, energy and commitment, are instrumental in realising Bluegem’s vision and values.

Employee development and retention
Employee development is an area Bluegem is committed to enhancing. Internal trainings are provided for our employee’s professional growth. Included in development and retention is a half-yearly review and year-end review to facilitate discussions about performance and development.

Employee wellbeing
We are committed to implementing initiatives, activities and events that have a wellbeing focus to engage employees, enhance connections and communication improve mental health. One example of this is our work-from-home one day a week paternity program.

Health and safety
Health and Safety is of fundamental importance to Bluegem, for each of our employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. We have set health and safety standards for the business across our facilities and offices.

Community engagement
We endeavour to develop a social capital by supporting the standard of living, health and wellbeing, environmental conservation, security and stability in our communities. We do this by partnering with community-based organisations, NGO’s and charities to support social causes.

Governance

At Bluegem, we are committed to governance and have a strong focus on the following areas which are important to our business and operations:

Legal compliance
Bluegem is committed to maintaining compliance with legal requirements in the regions where it operates and uses legal advisors to provide support where needed in addition to its dedicated legal staff.

Risk management
We implement appropriate controls to assess, manage and review risks associated with our business to support the achievement of corporate objectives, protect staff and business assets and ensure sustainability.

Anti-Bribery and Corruption
We monitor our client engagements, procurement and sales processes to ensure that anti-bribery and corruption risks are avoided and in line with our Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy. We also build employees’ awareness of this through bi- annual training.


POLICY INTEGRATION

We recognise the importance of gaining commitment to our ESG policy from all levels within our organisation: from senior management, internal functions, our employees and our suppliers.

Bluegem has established an ESG review process of the organisation to drive ESG performance improvement.

All of our employees and our suppliers (where relevant) are responsible for adhering to the principles of this policy.

Bluegem monitors a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to reflect our key ESG issues as a business.

Progress against these is monitored quarterly by the company and reported to the Board at least annually.

The Bluegem Board has overall responsibility for the ESG Policy.

We report regularly to external stakeholders how we manage ESG issues relating to our operations and products/services. We disclose activities in the period and performance against targets.

This ESG policy and underlying ESG-related policies will be reviewed on an annual basis and updated if required to ensure that they continue to reflect our vision and commitments.
